Parents are encouraged to communicate with teachers. This is best done by a telephone message during school hours requesting a return call. If it is necessary for a parent and teacher to meet other than on prescribed conference days, an appointment should be set up with the teacher. Talking with teachers before, during, or after school is discouraged. The teacher's main focus must be the children in their charge. Please set up an appointment if necessary. Parents are not permitted to discuss school business with the teacher in front of the children. Parents should show a prefessional respect for all school staff.
![]() Transportation - Because of the high cost of fuel and maintenance, Covenant Christian School does not provide bus transportation. Parents are encouraged to organize their own car pools. Those interested in obtaining the names of other parents in their neighborhood should contact the school office. Mon county families of K-5 through 8th grade students are offered transportation reimbursement based on mileage. Contact the school office for details. Due to a change in transportation law, all students under 80 pounds or 8 years of age must use a car seat or booster seat for all field trips if they are not riding on a school bus. Grades - You can check your child's grades online at the RenWeb website by following the link below: Parent Service (PSO) Organization: The purpose of the Parent Service Organization is to serve as an organization to aid the school and its families. The purpose is also to foster fellowship among parents and teachers, which will ultimately bring into close relationship the home and school. It is not to seek to direct the administrative activities of the school or to control the policy-making decisions of the Board. Nor is it to be a place for disgruntled parents to seek support. The School Advisory Board allows time at each of it's monthly meetings to hear concerns from parents. The desire of the PSO should be to aid families in their understanding of Christian education, to make them ultimately more effective in the rearing of their children, and to encourage them to become more loyal and committed to the school. The PSO should have it's own handbook to help make parents aware of activities in which they can become involved. You can check the calendar for the dates that the PSO meetings will be held. All meetings start at 6PM. Parents who have enrolled their children in the school are required members in the Parent Service Organization. As such they are expected to attend monthly PSO meetings. Faculty and staff likewise are a part of the Parent Service Organization. Parents who care will become active in a well-structured, purposeful Parent Service Organization. A good PSO shares the hard work and vision of the Board, Administration, and Executive Committee. A vibrant PSO can be the lifeline of the school and go a long way in making the school more effective in accomplishing its goals. |
